Bodegas Carlos Serres is one of Rioja´s historic wine cellars. The winery was founded in Haro, La Rioja in 1896 by Carlos Serres, a Frenchman who came to Haro (Rioja´s wine capital) looking for quality wines which could fill the gap created in international markets by the French Chateaux that were suffering the effects of the philoxera. Carlos Serres rapidly became one of the most influential personalities in the beginnings of the internationalization of Rioja wines. Today the winery is undergoing a complete reconstruction whilst the brand identity and packaging has just been renewed. The winery has always been known for perpetuating the founder´s vision of making wines which please demanding international palates, whilst reflecting the atlantic character of Haro, situated in the north west of Rioja.
